BREANA MALLOY

I found my love of cinema and filmmaking when I was 17 years old watching The Shining (Kubrick, 1980) with my friends. It was the first time I had seen a movie for more than the story; I analyzed the visuals, the character development, and the performances. When it came time to head off to college, I ditched my plans to be a psychology major and eventually get my doctorate to pursue filmmaking. Throughout my time in the Film Program at Grand Valley State University, I uncovered my talent for Producing. Ever since then I have been honing in on my skills and building my film career in Grand Rapids, MI.

My experience spreads from Independent Film (short and feature Length) to Corporate work. I have had the honor to work on many films in the past few years, some that are now streaming on The Criterion Channel or running the festival circuit. My aim as a producer is to bring meaningful stories to life through my work while accurately representing and portraying underrepresented groups and individuals whenever possible. I want my cast and crew to not only make a great movie, but enjoy the process and have fun doing it.
